About PNW

Pacific Northwest

PNW Group of Companies is a Yukon-grown team built on decades of dependable service—friendly, knowledgeable people, reliable equipment, and straightforward pricing you can trust. From freight and local deliveries to moving, storage, and waste removal, we help keep northern homes, businesses, and communities running smoothly. With operations in Whitehorse and an Edmonton terminal, plus trusted national moving partners, we make it easy to move goods and people safely, on time, and with clear communication every step of the way.

Our History

In 1967, Ron McRobb hired Frank King to work for their start-up moving company based in Whitehorse. The company gave King shares in their business in lieu of a paycheque when they struggled to make payroll. King stayed with the company and together they helped build PNW into the success it is today.

Almost 60 years later, Frank’s sons Sheldon and Shayne King oversaw the five PNW business streams in Whitehorse that have evolved as the company grew to keep pace with customer needs. Ron's son, Kevin Mcrobb oversaw operations at the Edmonton terminal.

The secret to their success? Service: friendly, knowledgeable people, reliable equipment and repair services, and all at a competitive price.

On December 1, 2024 the Mullen Group of Companies acquired PNW.

Testimonials

What Customers Are Saying

"We just had the most incredible experience dealing with PACIFIC NORTHWEST FREIGHT SYSTEMS. Had to ship our Harley Davidson trike to Alberta for servicing and return and at every step of loading, shipping, receiving home and unloading the female and male staff here in Whitehorse bent over backwards and provided incredible service! We couldn’t give higher points nor better praise to this thoughtful company!"

..." I would like to commend the work of Brandon and Matt. They were very pleasant, careful, motivated, and efficient. They both worked very hard and smiled through the challenges of slippery stairs and tight fits. Most impressive was their care in handling my stuff and protecting the houses. You guys ROCK!..."

Yukon Community Impact

Pacific Northwest (PNW) Group

For more than half a century, the PNW Group has been deeply engaged in community support across the Yukon, with a special emphasis on youth, families, and community events.

Giving To Our Community

As a long-standing local business rooted in the territory, PNW’s contributions reflect a commitment to strengthening community bonds and enhancing quality of life across the region.

Community Connections That Matter

Across these initiatives — from holiday giving and volunteer coordination to youth sport and major cultural celebrations — PNW’s work in the Yukon underscores a long-term dedication to uplifting the places and people it serves. Through partnerships with nonprofits, volunteer groups, sporting organizations, and cultural events, the Group continues to help build a stronger, more connected Yukon for families and young people alike.

Backing the 2026 Arctic Winter Games

As the 2026 Whitehorse Arctic Winter Games approach — a major circumpolar youth sporting and cultural celebration taking place March 8–15 in Whitehorse — PNW has been part of the broader network of community partners and supporters helping to build excitement and pride across the territory. The Games bring together nearly 2,000 young athletes and cultural participants from across the circumpolar North, and local business engagement is a key part of making this event successful and inclusive for all Yukoners.

Supporting Yukon Little League

PNW has also been a supporter of youth sport in the Yukon, including the Yukon Little League. The league has grown significantly in recent seasons, engaging dozens of young players across multiple teams and fostering teamwork, fun, and healthy activity in the community. PNW has contributed practical support such as transportation for teams and equipment, helping to remove barriers for kids to play and compete.

10th Anniversary — Share the Spirit Yukon

PNW has proudly supported Share the Spirit Yukon — a territory-wide holiday giving initiative that ensures children and families facing hardship can still experience the joy of the season. Now celebrating its tenth year, this program coordinates gift and food delivery to hundreds of families across more than a dozen communities each December. PNW’s leadership and support have helped sustain the growth of this outreach, making the holiday season brighter for thousands of Yukon residents.

Elf Central & Volunteer Engagement

A key part of Share the Spirit is Elf Central — the hub where volunteers gather to sort, wrap, and organize gifts for delivery. PNW’s involvement in supporting this space and the volunteer efforts around Elf Central helps ensure families receive thoughtful, personalized support throughout the campaign.
